The winners of the Competition on the Italian Presidency proclaimed at the award ceremony in Rome

The prize-giving ceremony of the Competition on the Italian Semester of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe took place on 23 February at the "Maria Montessori" Hall of the Ministry of Education. The celebration was opened by a video message from the Minister of Education, Patrizio Bianchi and was attended by Michael Remmert (Directorate General of Democracy Council of Europe), remotely connected, Director General Antimo Ponticiello (Directorate General for Students, Inclusion and School Guidance of the Ministry of Education) and Councillor Pier Luigi Gentile (Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation), moderated by Clara Rech (Directorate General for Students, Inclusion and School Orientation).

Launched by the Ministry of Education in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, the competition saw the active participation of secondary schools students who submitted entries on topics including the democratic process and the concept of inclusion, child-friendly justice, digitalisation, to name but a few, all in line with the Council of Europe's strategy for the rights of the child and in harmony with one of the three priority areas of the Italian Presidency Semester dedicated to the protection of minors.
