The Faro Italia Network holds its fourth meeting in Venice

On 6 December 2021 the fourth meeting of the Faro Italia Network took place in Venice at the office of the Council of Europe Italian Representation. The network includes heritage communities, cultural institutions and associations which operate in line with the principles of the Faro Convention and implement it at the national and local level. Francesc Pla of the Council of Europe Culture and Cultural Heritage Division presented the state of the art of the Faro convention ratification by Member States and European-level initiatives, while the head of the Venice Office Luisella Pavan-Woolfe spoke about heritage walks and other Faro-related activities organised in Italy.

Heritage communities representatives and Faro Volturno, new member of the network, illustrated events and initiatives which had taken place since the network’s June gathering in Castiglione del lago. The meeting ended with a heritage walk to the birthplace of 18th century playwriter Carlo Goldoni, the Goldoni theatre and the workshop of puppet maker Roberto Comin, to discover little-known examples of intangible Venetian heritage.
