During the month of May, the 11th edition of the European Days returns to Venice with a series of events focused on human rights and fundamental freedoms.

The initiatives, organised by the City of Venice in collaboration with the Italian office of the Council of Europe and the Italian representations of the European Parliament and Commission, celebrate two important dates: the birth of the Council of Europe on 5 May 1949 with the Treaty of London and the European Union on 9 May 1950 with the signing of the Schuman Declaration. Among these events, there will be three CAFFÈ EUROPA: "Europe and children " on 8 May at 5 pm at Chiostro M9; “Europe and women” on 15 May at 5 pm at Caffè Lavena; "Europe and cultural heritage" on 22 May at 5 pm at Caffè Florian; a training course for journalists on 24 may 2023 at Candiani Cultural Center; three book presentations at the Council of Europe office in Venice: “Elogio dei diritti e dei doveri culturali” on 16 May 2023 at 5 pm; “Ventotene 80” on 17 may 2023 at 5 pm; “Difendere insieme il patrimonio culturale dell’Europa. La Convenzione di Faro” on 19 May 2023 at 5 pm; and a Concert for Europe on 25 May at 6 pm at Benedetto Marcello Music Conservatory.
