Festival dei Sentieri: a journey through memory to rediscover slow tourism

From 13 to 16 May Cassino will host the “Festival dei Sentieri tra Natura, Storia e Memoria” (“Festival of Paths between Nature, History and Memory”), an event promoted by the Association Cassino Città per la Pace. The initiative will end on Sunday with a walk towards the Montecassino abbey.

According to Marino Fardelli, President of the Association, the aim of the festival is to develop slow and sustainable tourism, in search of natural and historical spaces, a need highlighted recently by restrictions due to the Covid19 pandemic.

The Head of the Italian Office of the Council of Europe, Luisella Pavan-Woolfe will speak on 14 May in a panel entitled "Yesterday paths of war, today places of peace". She will present the Cultural Routes promoted by the Council of Europe, the Faro Convention and the Heritage Walks, as well as the routes of relevance for the city of Cassino.

It will be possible to follow the event in live streaming from the Facebook page of the Association, available at the following link: Associazione Cassino Città per la Pace - Home | Facebook
