Council of Europe Days presented at Club of Venice’s communication professionals

Council of Europe Days have been high on the agenda at Palazzo Franchetti during Club of Venice’s plenary session (30 November – 1 December), as a best practice for institutional communication.

The initiative has been highlighted during the round table on “The Future of public communication”: framing challenges and turbulences, building resilience, supporting policies, and delivering trustworthy narratives. Reinforcing inter-governmental co-operation within International Organisations has been one of the central themes of the session. More than eighty communication specialists and experts from several European countries have learned about the project.

It has been an opportunity for an information session for many public actors around Council of Europe member states, with a potential spill-over effect into their national public diplomacy activities.

This year's discussions focused on critical issues such as the new challenges posed by artificial intelligence, the current social media landscape, and new digital practices. An exposé on Council of Europe 75th anniversary priorities has also been part of the agenda.

The Club of Venice is an informal gathering of senior governments, European Union and European institutions’ professionals sharing best practices and reflecting on communication developments across Europe.

Prior to the meeting, the Council of Europe Days initiative was the highlight at the welcome reception organised at the Venice office.
