Citizens and communities on the foreground to manage cultural heritage

On 4 May 2023 the “Scuola dei Beni e delle Attività Culturali” Foundation held a round table on citizens’ and communities’ participation in the management of cultural heritage at the Central National Library in Rome.

The meeting organized by the Foundation involved experts, professionals, scholars and local communities’ representatives. The aim of the event was to share the results of the research conducted on the subject by the Foundation. This took as starting point the ratification of the Faro Convention by Italy and explored different ways citizens and communities look after and enhance cultural heritage.

Among the speakers at the round table which closed the event were Erminia Schiaccitano, Ministry of Culture, Sneška Quaedvlieg-Mihailović, Secretary General of Europa Nostra and Luisella Pavan-Woolfe, Director of the Council of Europe Office in Venice.
