Visit by the Geneva Registry of the United Nations Dispute Tribunal to the Administrative Tribunal of the Council of Europe

From 28 to 30 June 2017, the Administrative Tribunal of the Council of Europe was visited by a delegation from the Geneva Registry of the United Nations Dispute Tribunal.

During the visit, the delegation held exchanges with the judges and members of the Registry on the working methods and case law of the two tribunals. In addition, the delegation attended a hearing and met lawyers from the Directorate of Legal Advice and Public International Law (which is tasked with representing the Secretary General before the Tribunal), as well as the Chair of the Staff Committee; it also gathered information on the working methods of the European Court of Human Rights and its case law relating to international civil service.

The visit took place as part of the co-operation between international tribunals initiated by the Administrative Tribunal of the Council of Europe. Any other sister tribunal wishing to participate in an exchange visit between registries or any other body wishing to undertake a visit may contact the Registry of the Administrative Tribunal of the Council of Europe in order to agree arrangements for the visit.
