Ireland funds the European Court of Human Rights and the execution of its judgments

The Government of Ireland has made a voluntary contribution of €180 000 to support the webcasting of public hearings of the European Court of Human Rights and to reduce the backlog of well-founded cases and unexecuted leading judgments of the Court.

The agreement was signed on 17 June 2025 by Ambassador Caitríona Doyle, Permanent Representative of Ireland to the Council of Europe, and Mr Bjørn Berge, Deputy Secretary General.
