Youth Cooperation Programme activities in the scope of the joint Programme EU - Council of Europe - iLEGEND
Diaspora Youth training course
Youth organisations have the expertise, pedagogical approach and capacity to reach out to and raise awareness among young people. They are thus key strategic partner f the North-South Centre for the implementation of the iLEGEND project. By offering them networking and knowledge sharing opportunities, the promotion of Global Development Education (GDE) is strengthened.
In this context, the activities of the youth cooperation programme in the framework of the iLEGEND seek to strengthen the role of youth as key actors in global and interregional development, as well as to facilitate the development of youth policies and structures for youth participation. These are preconditions for the change and development, which the North-South Centre seeks to promote.
Inclusive societies: Diaspora in Europe
Building up from previous successful experiences with diaspora youth leaders – namely the African Diaspora Youth Network in Europe - ADYNE – the North-South Centre of the Council of Europe works with diaspora youth groups and young migrants who have proven to be crucial actors in the promotion of global/development education, representing an immense richness for the hosting societies.
