Gathering of Spanish Anti-Rumours cities

On 13 and 14 November the city of Logroño, hosted the 15th meeting of the Network of Intercultural Cities (RECI) and the 2nd meeting of the Anti-rumours Spanish cities, attended by over twenty Spanish municipalities to share experiences and analyse the advantages of diversity.

The meetings allowed participating cities to exchange experiences and intercultural work methodology that serves to manage the challenges and opportunities offered by diversity.

The annual work plan of the RECI was also reviewed and the next steps of the first quarter of 2019 were considered, including the planning of the second edition of the "RECI Diversity Advantage Challenge", a recognition of the best initiatives and projects that promote the advantage of the diversity.

Moreover, the RECI discussed progress towards the organisation of the Spanish Policy Lab in view of setting up a permanent dialogue between cities and the national authorities on inclusive policies and diversity management.

Finally, on the 14th of November, the Spanish Anti-Rumors Cities met to assess progress and developments in the implementation of the Anti-Rumours methodology, i.e. a strategic policy approach whose purpose is to prevent discrimination, improve coexistence and take advantage of the potential of diversity by promoting a change in the perceptions, attitudes and behaviors of citizens.

The national presentation of the Spanish version of the Antirumour Handbook, took place during this day.
