Back Training course on intercultural communication in the workplace

The City of Montreal organises in-service training for its employers and managers in order to develop their intercultural skills and in particular to:

  • Identify and overcome obstacles to efficient intercultural communication in the workplace;
  • Identify and put into perspective the way in which people perceive others and themselves in an intercultural setting;
  • Demystify cultural diversity in the workplace and understand the factors behind certain behaviour;
  • Develop the skills and attitudes which foster co-operation (successful sponsorship and integration in employment).

A framework for assessing the impact of this training is being developed in 2018. Moreover, a reference document on intercultural skills is also being prepared.

This training is aimed at all the departments of the Montreal city authority.
