Resolution on child online safety, supported by the Council of Europe, entered into force

On 1 September, Resolution on the adoption of the regulations for publishing online information that poses a threat to the child entered into force. The Resolution has been adopted by the Communications Commission of Georgia (regulatory body) with the expert assistance on behalf of the Council of Europe.

According to the Resolution, respective age marking should be indicated on audio-visual products (programmes, games, movies etc.), while publication of the content involving a threat to the child, is prohibited on web-pages audience of which are children.

The adoption of the Resolution was supported in the framework of the Council of Europe Project “Supporting Freedom of Media and Internet in Georgia”.
