On 19 March 2024, Professor Johann Goldammer, Director of the Global Fire Monitoring Centre (Freibourg, Germany) participated in the Second  Technical Workshop of the Global Fire Management Hub Workshop organised in Rome by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) in cooperation with the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP). 

The aim of the meeting was to discuss the operation of the Global Wildland Fire Regional Networks and Centers in connection with the Fire Hub, in particular taking into account the 25-year work experience  of the GFMC in this area.
