Following the study carried out by Tatino Films on a "Lab Projects" support programme, the Eurimages Board of Management has adopted the creation of the Eurimages New Lab Awards as of 1 January 2024.

Like their predecessors, these awards aim to promote and celebrate both established and emerging non-conventional filmmakers and visual artists recognised for their daring work and to give them greater visibility by providing concrete support for them in their professional careers.

Four awards will be presented annually in the framework of two selected initiatives, each consisting of:

• an Innovation Award of €20,000 each for projects in development to promote experimentation;
• an Outreach Award of €30,000 each for work-in-progress projects (in late production or post-production) to promote audience outreach.
