On Saturday evening, the last Eurimages Co-production Development Award of the year, which also closes the 2021-2023 cycle, went to THE MISSING PLANET by Marouan Omara and Tom Rosenberg, to be produced by Michael Henrichs from the German company Die Gesellschaft DGS. This prize of 20,000 euros, presented as part of the TorinoFilmLab, was awarded by a jury made up of Tamara Tatishvili (Hubert Bals Fund, NL), Rodrigo Areias (Bando a Parte, PT) and Noémi Kahn (CNC, FR) for Eurimages. The members of the jury chose to award this prize to “a project with a complex approach to filmmaking and a multi-layered theme that is grounded, thought-provoking and conceptual at the same time. Naturally proposed as an artistic co-operation between filmmakers from two different worlds, it explores documentary, sci-fi and film noir medium embarking us on a journey of memories, trauma and liberating dreams.” More information in the press-release.

The next Eurimages Co-production Development Award, which will open the 2024-2026 cycle will be presented at the Berlinale Co-Production Market on Sunday 18 February 2024.
27.10.2023 - On Wednesday evening, the €20,000 Eurimages Co-production Development Award presented by the Cinekid for Professionals Junior Co-production Market went to NICO FINDS A TREASURE by Konstantinos Frangopoulos, to be produced by Greek companies Anemon Productions and asterisk*, in cooperation with Bind Film (NL) and Lieblingsfilm (DE). The jury, made up of Daniela Cölle (Pom Pom Film, HR), Marina Andree Škop (Pluto Film, DE) and Els Hendrix (DE) for Eurimages, unanimously chose to award the prize stating
“The chosen project tackles difficulties that many children of the age of the protagonist experience such as bullying and the lack of support that often enough lead them to escape into digital solitude. In beautiful pictures the film will show how the connection with nature and more specifically the sea as well as the necessity to conquer challenges in the real world allow the protagonist and his new friends to grow and to connect with themselves. The jury has unanimously decided to award the project “Nico finds a treasure”.

18.08.2023 - The Eurimages Co-production Development Award (20,000 euros) was announced at the closing ceremony of the CineLink Industry Days organised on 12-17 August 2023 as part of the 29th Sarajevo Film Festival. The award went to the project MY MOTHER, THE MONSTER, to be directed by Olivér Rudolf and produced by the Hungarian company Kino Alfa. The jury, consisting of Labina Mitevska (Sisters&Brother Mitevski), Oliver Neumann (FreibeuterFilm GmbH) and Eleni Chandrinou, the Greek national representative at Eurimages, unanimously decided to reward “a strong director with a unique vision, who treats his characters with kindness and warmth and brings to light the abyss of their soul”. 24.03.2023 - Last night, the €20,000 Eurimages Co-production Development Award, presented in the framework of CPH:DOX in Copenhagen, went to the project ONLY ON EARTH by Robin Petré . The project will be produced by the Danish company Hansen & Pedersen.
The jury members, producers Rikke Tambo Andersen (Tambo Film) and Heino Deckert (ma.ja.de.) as well as Emma Scott (IE) for Eurimages have chosen to reward “a visually stunning project, that brought us to a place where nature is burning, climate change is evident, but hope is to be found between humans and animals”.
To express its support of and solidarity with the Ukrainian film industry, Eurimages decided once more to hand out a Special Co-production Development Award of the same amount, €20,000, to one of the many selected Ukrainian projects in Copenhagen. The above-mentioned jury which decided to award it to the project RED ZONE, directed by Iryna Tsilyk and produced by Darya Bassel from the Ukrainian company Moon Man was captivated by “this innovative look at the inner lives of women as they go about their daily lives with humour and courage while in the midst of a terrifying war”.

10.03.2023 - The 25th edition of Cartoon Movie in Bordeaux (France) wrapped up yesterday with the presentation of the Eurimages Co-production Development Award to the project I'M STILL ALIVE by Roberto Saviano. The film is co-produced by MAD Entertainment (Italy), Lucky Red (Italy), SIPUR (Israel) & Gapbusters (Belgium). The jury for this award, composed of Simon Crowe (SC Films International - UK), Pierre Mazars (Charades - France) and Elena Kotova for Eurimages, was impressed by the diversity and quality of the animation projects they examined. Roberto Saviano's project was chosen for the award for its bold and courageous creativity.
Other films supported by Eurimages were also prize-winners in Bordeaux yesterday during the Cartoon Movie Tributes with the producers of feature animation NO DOGS OR ITALIANS ALLOWED winners of Producers of the Year and Mascha Halberstad named as Director of the Year for her film OINK. 20.02.2023 - Last night, the Eurimages Co-production Development Award at the Berlinale Co-production Market was awarded to Spanish producers Avalon PC for their project IVÁN & HADOUM, to be directed by Ian de la Rosa. Eurimages Executive Director Susan Newman Baudais then announced the granting of a Special Co-Production Development Award of the same amount (20,000 euros) to a particularly promising Ukrainian project entitled THE BLINDSIGHT, produced by 2Brave Productions and directed by Ruslan Batytskyi. Both awards were presented to their respective winners by Eurimages President Catherine Trautmann in the presence of the jury which was composed of Spanish producer Mariela Besuievsky (Spain, Tornasol Media), Polish international sales agent Marcin Łuczaj (New Europe Film Sales) and Georgian representative Nino Kirtadzé for Eurimages.
