GLACY+: Judicial Trainers on Cybercrime and E-Evidence gather to discuss medium term development of a global network of peers

The Second Meeting of the National Judicial Trainers on Cybercrime and Electronic Evidence was held on the 17th of November, co-hosted by the GLACY+, iPROCEEDS-2, CyberSouth and CyberEast Projects. The meeting built on the results achieved during the first edition, held in July 2019 in Strasbourg.

The event gathered approximately 100 participants from more than 20 countries, including judges, prosecutors, representatives of training institutions and other national authorities from countries of Europe, Africa, Latin America and Asia Pacific.

The workshop consisted of two sessions, respectively focusing on:

  • enhancing capacities and building a community of judicial trainers, by establishing a global network of peers,
  • developing a technical platform that could serve countries worldwide for the organization of judicial training and for the creation of a common repository of judicial training materials.

During the event a working group has been established, tasked to identify needs and functionalities and conclude a proof of concept for the online training platform. The development of the platform will be initiated in the first quarter of 2021 and is expected to be completed (and platform officially launched) by February 2022.

The Third Meeting of the National Judicial Trainers on Cybercrime and Electronic Evidence will be organized in October 2021 to record progress achieved so far and to approve the action plan for the year to follow.

This activity was organized joining resources with Cybercrime@Octopus project.
