GLACY+: International gathering focuses on how to streamline cybercrime and e-evidence topics in Law Enforcement Training Strategies

The second International Workshop on Cybercrime Training Strategies for Law Enforcement Agencies was held on 25th of November, co-organized by INTERPOL, the European Cybercrime Training and Education Group (ECTEG) and the Council of Europe, in the framework of the GLACY+ Project.

The workshop was a good occasion for the law enforcement community to reflect on the need for a strategic approach in planning and delivering courses on cybercrime and e-evidence. Only with a medium-long term commitment and a clear allocation of resources and time it is possible to develop and consolidate competencies that are needed by cybercrime investigators and digital forensics analysts to do their job.

Training resources developed by ECTEG were presented and conditions to access and use them were confirmed for all priority countries of the projects supported by C-PROC: CyberEast, CyberSouth, GLACY+ and iPROCEEDS-2.

INTERPOL completed the panel discussing a methodological approach to design a training strategy, sharing experience gained when developing similar documents in the international context.

The workshop will be followed-up by a number of in-country activities that will be conducted by Council of Europe and INTERPOL, aimed at supporting the production of a coherent and sustainable training plan on cybercrime and e-evidence.
