CyberSouth: Study visit in Tunisia

Within the framework of the CyberSouth project – a joint project of the European Union and the Council of Europe – a study visit was conducted in Tunisia on 19-21 November 2018 in order to meet with competent authorities responsible for addressing cybercrime and e-evidence issues in the field of criminal justice.

Council of Europe experts were able to visit the Cybercrime Units and also the Forensic Labs within the Garde Nationale and Direction Générale de la Surveillance du Territoire, and they were able to assess the current needs on capabilities to fight against cybercrime and collection of electronic evidence (specialized training, human resources and unit structure, investigative skills and procedures).

Tunisian authorities showed an excellent understanding of the cybercrime challenges and demonstrated a strong commitment in playing an active role within this project.
