CyberSouth: Follow up missions on law enforcement training on cybercrime and electronic evidence in Tunisia, Morocco and Jordan

Under the framework of Cybersouth project, on the period of 03-12 of December 2019, multiple meetings with law enforcement authorities were held in Tunis (03-04 December), Rabat (09-10 December) and Amman (12 December).

The training activities were organized jointly with the authorities in charge with cybercrime investigations and training within the Police and Gendarmerie and aimed at presenting the resources developed by the Council of Europe on electronic evidence (Eletronic Evidence Guide, Digital Forensics Guideline, Standard Operating Procedures for the collection, analysis and presentation of the electronic evidence developed by ECTEG and adapted in Arabic language with the support of CyberSouth Project) and establishing the countries training needs to be followed-up within CyberSouth Project.

These meetings helped the authorities from Tunisia, Morocco and Jordan to be acquainted with the international standards and to structure their responses to cybercrime and e-evidence. The next step will be the implementation of these standards in their training curricula and the development of a national training manual for cybercrime investigators.
