Back "Cybersecurity in Romania" - 4th edition

The Cybercrime Programme Office of the Council of Europe (C-PROC) was represented at the 4th edition of the Conference "Cybersecurity in Romania" organized by the Swiss embassy in Romania and the International Telecommunications Union (ITU) in Sibiu, Romania on 15-16 September.

This year's congress focused on “Public-private dialogue - a necessity?” and was aimed at major local and international actors in the fields of cybercrime and cybersecurity such as the ITU, ENISA, CERT-RO, ANCOM, FBI, CNRS, C-PROC, as well as the Romaian and Swiss Police and relevant actors from the private sector.

Among the topics discussed, the role of international specialized bodies in law enforcement and data forensics, the means of preventing and combatting cybercrime and terrorism while securing critical infrastructures, as well as specific international case studies received considerable attention and sparked lively debates amongst the participants.

C-PROC capacity building activities were also highlighted in presentations held by representatives of CERT-RO, whose team of experts delivered trainings in data forensics in South Africa, Sri Lanka and the Philippines under the GLACY project.
