Back Kazakhstan advances judicial training on cybercrime and e-evidence at Istanbul Workshop

On 22-23 October 2024, Kazakhstan’s Department of Judicial Administration and the Law Enforcement Academy under the Prosecutor General’s Office joined colleagues from Southeast Europe at a regional workshop on judicial training for cybercrime and electronic evidence.

Organised by the CyberSEE Project in Istanbul, Türkiye, and supported by the Octopus Project, the event brought together representatives from justice academies, national trainers, judges, and prosecutors, aiming to mainstream the training programmes on cybercrime and electronic evidence.

Participants were introduced to various resources and tools, including CYBOX, a new online platform for exchange, training, and resource sharing on cybercrime and e-evidence developed by the Council of Europe under the Octopus Project. CYBOX provides customizable resources and a hands-on training environment to support further capacity building by law enforcement and judiciary professionals.

The Cybercrime Programme Office of the Council of Europe (C-PROC) through its projects will continue working with countries worldwide by promoting a sustainable and effective approach to training on cybercrime and electronic evidence.
