About 45 cybercrime professionals from 12 countries participating in the International Network of National Judicial Trainers (Network) met online on 29 February to discuss cybercrime challenges in relation to cryptocurrencies.
The participants had to study in advance a scenario case involving cryptocurrencies and debate with their peers on the best way to solve it. The moderator guided the discussions, offering explanations and asking thought-provoking questions. The participants exchanged their views on the case, the challenges of investigating cryptocurrencies related cases and practical ways of overcoming the existing limitations (lack of national legislation, gaps in the communication with the virtual assets services providers etc).
Considering the interest of the members of the Network to continue with the new webinar format, the April webinar will focus on a romance scam scenario.
The series of practioners-to-practioners webinars is an opportunity for the members of the Network to meet, share experiences and expand their knowledge on cybercrime and electronic evidence, and better understand the application of the Convention on Cybercrime that regulates them.
