On 20 and 21 April, the GLACY+ project in co-operation with the 24/7 POC of Peru organised an online awareness raising workshop on the role of the 24/7 Network for around 70 Peruvian prosecutors and LEA.
The purpose of the event was to deepen awareness of the strategical role of the national 24/7 POC in criminal investigations involving electronic evidence, and to increase knowledge on the responsibilities of the 24/7 POC concerning the new tools of the Second Additional Protocol to the Cybercrime Convention (Budapest Convention).
The workshop benefited from the presence of the 24/7 POC of Chile, Costa Rica and the Dominican Republic, who shared their national experiences and success stories of using the 24/7 POC in preservation of computer data in cybercrime investigations and other criminal cases involving electronic evidence.
Peru acceded to the Cybercrime Convention in August 2019 and has been since August 2022 a priority country for the joint EU-Council of Europe GLACY+ project.
