Team BlockBustersBR from the Brazilian Federal Police, supported by INTERPOL in the framework of the GLACY-e project, a joint initiative of the European Union and the Council of Europe, finished on the 12th place in the SCAN2024 Capture-the-Flag (CTF) final stage in Seoul, Korea, on 22 November. The final 16 teams emerged as the top contenders from an initial pool of 490 teams representing 46 countries during the online preliminary stage. Among them, 43 GLACY teams were part of the competition, showcasing their skills in the online competition.
Events similar with SCAN 2024 provide a valuable platform for knowledge exchange and capacity building, equipping the specialists with the skills they need to address emerging threats like cryptocurrencies.
This event has shown the need for continuous training for law enforcement for understanding how technology works and exploring new avenues in using it in investigating cybercrime. INTERPOL, together with the GLACY-e project, will continue supporting the member countries in developing their capacities and framing effective responses to criminal proceeds in digital assets.
