On 8 February 2023, Cameroon was invited to accede to the Budapest Convention on Cybercrime. This invitation to accede is valid for five years from its adoption.

Today, 15 December, on the occasion of a ceremony on the last day of the Octopus Conference 2023 in Bucharest, Cameroon became Party to the Cybercrime Convention. With these new accessions, 69 States are now Parties, two have signed it and 22 have been invited to accede to the Convention.
