Back Putting plurilingual education into practice in primary and secondary schools

CEFR WEBINAR SERIES 2021 | NUMBER 7
Putting plurilingual education into practice in primary and secondary schools

The seventh webinar of CEFR Webinar Series 2021 entitled "Putting plurilingual education into practice in primary and secondary schools" took place on 4 November 2021.

The rapid increase of plurilingual pupils in European schools has led to the investigation of models of plurilingual education. The webinar puts forward a holistic model for plurilingual education and presents examples of concrete classroom activities developed through the implementation of the model for early, primary, and secondary education. A discussion follows on future trends around plurilingual activities, giving voice to both pupils and teachers.

The webinar was moderated by Joana Duarte. Ms Duarte is a professor for global citizenship and bilingual education at the University of Amsterdam. She is also a professor for multilingualism and literacy at the University of Groningen and at the NHL Stenden University of Applied Sciences. She is principal investigator in several national and international projects investigating multilingualism in primary, secondary and higher education.
