EUROPEAN DRUG PREVENTION PRIZE
The European Drug Prevention Prize was launched
for the first time in 2004. It is awarded every two years to three drug prevention projects that
fully involve young people, either in the development and implementation of activities,
the decision-making, the project management
and/or the evaluation.
The Pompidou Group is awarding this Prize to highlight good-quality drug prevention projects
that have proved success in practice in involving young people. In general, it aims to encourage the development

The projects are evaluated by a jury of seven young people advised by experts in the field of
drug prevention. The prize-winners each receive a trophy, a diploma and a
prize-money of €5.000.
Launch of European Drug Prevention Prize 2014 - Call for application of projects
On 26 November 2013, during the 73rd Permanent Correspondents Meeting of the Pompidou Group, two jurors are launching the 6th European Drug Prevention Prize in Athens. We herewith are calling for projects to apply to the Prize 2014 which will be awarded at the end of 2014.
All 47 Council of Europe member states, Israel, Morocco, observer States as well as countries from the southern rim of the Mediterranean which are members of the Pompidou Group’s Mediterranean network for co-operation on drugs and addictions (MedNET) (Algeria, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Tunisia) are invited to participate.

Concept, rules and procedures
The first steps of the European Drug Prevention Prize 2014 have now been discussed and decided upon at the preparatory meeting in Strasbourg. The seven Jurors have followed an in-depth training with the advisers to the Jury. We are honoured to conclude the preparatory meeting with such a success and such a dedicated team.|
The 2014 Prize will be opened for applications in November this year. Applicants will have until March 2014 to apply.
Rules and procedures for the applications will be available on this website in the end of November.
