Migrants and employment: the implementation of the legal framework

Did you know that 51.6% of immigrants in Portugal live in the metropolitan area of Lisbon? And that the percentage of working-age immigrants is more than 63%? Did you know that foreigners have higher rates of entrepreneurship than native Portuguese?

Given this scenario, the Intercultural City of Lisbon and the Centre Padre Alves Correia (CEPAC) are organising a workshop on “Migrants and Employment - implementation of the immigration law", on 6 April in Lisbon. The workshop, aiming at raising awareness on practical issues related to the needs and the integration measures of the migrants eager to work in Portugal, will also focus on the difficulties encountered by the employment and advice support offices having a first contact with immigrants.

In the context of the Municipal Plan for the Integration of Immigrants of Lisbon, this event will include an open debate on the conditions and formalities imposed in the EU for migrants and an analysis of the immigration law and social rights in Portugal.

This unique event will be held at the CIUL – Centro de Informação Urbana de Lisboa.
