It is with sorrow and regret that the North-South Centre received the news of the loss of Ambassador Guido Bellatti Ceccoli, Permanent Representative of the Republic of San Marino to the Council of Europe. Mr. Bellatti Ceccoli will always be remembered as a firm defender of human rights and intercultural dialogue and one of the strongest advocates of the North-South Centre, who mourns the loss of a true friend.
The North-South Centre conveys its condolences to his family and loved ones and to all the colleagues in the Permanent Representation of the Republic of San Marino in Strasbourg as well as in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
He leaves behind a wonderful legacy, his values living on in the people and the institutions he contributed to and, we shall continue to believe, as he did, in our capability to build open societies.
