The last edition of the Eurimages Lab Project Award, worth 50 000 euros, was presented in the framework of an exceptional hybrid edition of Les Arcs Industry Village which took place last week in Paris. It went to the project MAGDALA by Damien Manivel, produced by Mld Films (France). The jury (on the above picture), composed of Eva Sangiorgi (Director of the Viennale), Karel Och (Artistic Director of Karlovy Vary IFF), Claire Burger (film director), Fabien Lemercier (journalist) and Alex Traila (RO) for Eurimages really appreciated this mystical and sensorial immersion in the heart of nature, considering it as a sincere non-conventional cinematic journey in the last days of Maria Magdalena, through the striking expressiveness of Elsa Wolliaston. 13-11-2020 - The Eurimages Lab Project Award, worth 50 000 euros, presented in the framework of the Agora Works-In-Progress initiative at the Thessaloniki Film Festival was awarded to the project TRACKING SATYRS by Maciej & Michal Madraccy and Gilles Lepore, produced by Beata Rzeźniczek from the company Madants (PL), in co-operation with Pierre-Alain Meier from Prince Film (CH). The jury, composed of Michael Stütz (Panorama, Berlin International Film Festival), Karina Korenblum (Sales & Acquisitions, Cercamon/Screenbox) and Dorien van de Pas (NL) for Eurimages, unanimously decided to reward a daring adaptation of Sophocles’ myth, blends gracefully silence, with a striking black and white photography offering us a contemporary view of our society. 24-08-2020 - The second Eurimages Lab Project Award of the year presented in the framework of the New Nordic Films initiative (18-21 August 2020) at the Haugesund International Norwegian Film Festival was awarded to the film A BLIND MAN WHO DID NOT WANT TO SEE TITANIC directed by Teemu Nikki and produced by Jani Pösö from the company It's Alive Films (FIN). The jury composed of Cia Edström (Göteborg Film Festival), Svend Bolstad Jensen (Arthaus) and Nino Kirtaze (GE) for Eurimages wanted to reward a daring artistic approach by the director who takes the viewer deep into the universe of a blind man, forced to confront the world and dive into the unknown in the name of love. The same jury also decided to award a Special Mention to the film EXCESS WILL SAVE US - THE MOVIE by Morgane Dziurla-Petit. More information on the Festival’s website. 

9-07-2020 - The first Eurimages Lab Project Award of the year went to the project Atlantide directed by Yuri Ancarani and produced by Marco Alessi (IT). This film was presented in the framework of the on-line edition of the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival Eastern Promises Industry Days. The jury composed of Mark Peranson (Head of Programming of the Berlinale), Adina Pintilie (Romanian filmmaker) and Els Hendrix for Eurimages (Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and Media – BKM- in Germany) decided to reward this film for the unsettling yet fascinating vision of a dying world it brings. It stated: “Using the metaphor of Atlantis, the director’s singular gaze brilliantly synchronises the perspective of teenagers with the sad perspective of a vanishing city. Nevertheless, like contemporary Noah’s arks, the motorboats race across the Venetian lagoon, driven by the energy of youth, in a life-affirming view on a possible future.”
