On 14 November, Ambassador Haris Bašić, Permanent Representative of Bosnia and Herzegovina, signed the Second Additional Protocol to the Convention on Cybercrime, on enhanced co-operation and disclosure of electronic evidence, in the presence of Mr. Bjørn Berge Deputy Secretary General of the Council of Europe.
The Second Additional Protocol on enhanced co-operation and disclosure of electronic evidence was opened for signature on 12 May 2022, in Strasbourg and offers innovative tools, such as direct cooperation with service providers in other jurisdictions to obtain subscriber information, expeditious co-operation in emergency situations, joint investigation teams and joint investigations, with strong human rights and rule of law safeguards.
The event took place in the context of the 33nd Plenary of the Cybercrime Convention Committee (T-CY) on 13-14 November 2025, where the members of the Convention on Cybercrime (Budapest Convention) gathered to take stoke of the latest developments on cybercrime and electronic evidence and decide on the further directions for capacity building and other strategic matters.
The Council of Europe, through its Cybercrime Programme Office (C-PROC) and the CyberSEE project, supported authorities of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the process of implementation of the Second Protocol which led to the signature of it.
