SYNERGY Network launches new strategy with steering committee meeting in Nicosia

Twenty-five participants from 11 countries gathered in Nicosia, Cyprus from 17–19 May 2026 for first Steering Committee meeting of the SYNERGY Network against gender based and domestic violence. The meeting, co-organised by the Council of Europe Pathways Initiative under the EEA and Norway Grants framework, marked the opening of a new chapter in coordinated European efforts to end gender based violence under the new SYNERGY Strategy 2026–2032.

The meeting took place alongside a high-level conference on cyber violence against girls under the Cyprus EU Council Presidency, at which CoE GREVIO President Maria-Andriani Kostopoulou and GREVIO member María Rún Bjarnadóttir reinforcing the centrality of the Istanbul Convention to address emerging forms of technology-facilitated violence against women.
