The Government of Portugal has made a voluntary contribution of €190,000 to support the Council of Europe Action Plan for Ukraine “Resilience, Recovery and Reconstruction” 2023-2026 and its successor Action Plan, the projects “Human Rights Education for Youth” and “United for Values” implemented by the North-South Centre, the prevention of violence against women, as well as to reduce the European Court of Human Rights backlog of well-founded cases.

The agreement was signed on 9 March 2026 by Ambassador António Alves Machado, Permanent Representative of Portugal to the Council of Europe, and Mr Bjørn Berge, Deputy Secretary General.
