Council of Europe response package to the refugee influx in Armenia

The Council of Europe has developed a comprehensive response package to the refugee influx in Armenia. This package with a total volume of 2.8 Million Euro provides support to Armenia in addressing the issues related to hosting Karabakh Armenians, including some 30,000 children, who had to flee in the country in recent months. It comprises new projects as well as additional targeted activities of projects already under implementation as part of the Council of Europe's Action Plan for Armenia (2023-2026). The Council of Europe assistance will focus notably on strengthening the protection of human rights for displaced persons in Armenia, in particular vulnerable groups including children. Extensive support will be provided to Human Rights institutions in particular the Human Rights Defender’s Office.
