What is the goal?


►    Support Kosovo* in strengthening its institutional capacities to prevent and combat trafficking in human beings;
►    Support measures aiming at strengthening criminal justice response to THB, in particular investigation and prosecution, and improving the access of victims to justice and effective remedies.

►    Ministry of Interior;
►    Office of the National Anti-Trafficking Coordinator;
►    Directorate against Trafficking in Human Beings, Kosovo Police
►    Kosovo Academy for Public Safety;
►    Office for Protection and Assistance to Victims;
►    Office of the Chief State Prosecutor;
►    Kosovo Bar Association;
►    Civil society organisations;
►    Victims of trafficking and persons in vulnerable situations, in particular, women and children.

 

What are the activities? 


►    Assessment by GRETA  of the level and quality of the measures taken against trafficking in human beings; 
►    Training of legal professionals to strengthen the investigation and prosecution of THB cases and the protection of the rights of victims; 
►    Support to the development of a database of human trafficking case-law to assist legal professionals in their work.

 

What do we expect to achieve?


►    Alignment of legislation and practice with the provisions of the CoE Convention on Actions against Trafficking in Human Beings; 
►    Srengthened criminal justice responses to trafficking in human beings  and improved access to justice of victims of human trafficking.
How much will it cost?
►    The total budget of the Action is 450.000 EUR funded by a voluntary contribution of Norway.
