The Pompidou Group’s Permanent Correspondents met in Strasbourg for their 97th meeting ahead of the Ministerial Conference to finalise a series of decisions that will frame the Group’s strategic direction for the 2026–2029 work cycle.
Chaired by Ms Mari Viro Moser, Co-Head of Section, Federal Department of Home Affairs (FDHA), the meeting opened with the welcoming of Spain’s newly designated Permanent Correspondent, alongside several other newly designated Permanent Correspondents from their member States.
Key decisions included endorsing the future Bureau composed of ten member States and supporting the candidacies for Presidency and Vice-Presidency for 2026–2029. The Committee also took note of the final Review of the 2023–2025 Work Programme; and the final Work Programme for 2026–2029 and endorsed the draft Ministerial Declaration for the Ministerial Conference.
