An escape room game to escape rumours? Join the launch of the ICC Escape Rumours

Identifying and dismantling prejudice and stereotypes is a key factor of preventing and combating discrimination. Promoting a more positive understanding of the richness brought by diversity also requires countering the myths that contribute spreading populist and hate narratives about diversity.

Understand the nature and role of stereotypes, prejudices and rumours as a breeding ground for discrimination and hate speech.

“Escape Rumours” is an online interactive, educational tool designed and piloted by Anti-Rumours Global and the Intercultural Cities programme that contributes to developing young people’s intercultural skills and engages them in building rumours-free local and social media ecosystems.

Players have to solve a series of tests/questions related to the knowledge of human rights and discrimination, and solve challenging situations provoked by prejudices, rumours and stereotypes, so to understand how they are spread and which strategies are most effective to reduce their negative impact.

Escape rumours is a tool to developing young people’s intercultural skills in a funny way.

The Intercultural Cities programme will launch the online tool at the forthcoming Fundamental Rights Forum, on 12 October, 11.30 – 12.30 Strasbourg Time:
