Bradford takes stock of integration and cohesion during COVID-19

Bradford’s “Stronger Communities Partnership Board” which oversees the integration and cohesion programme, Bradford For Everyone, held an away day to take stock of the lessons from the community response to the coronavirus pandemic and the affects it has had on individuals, families and communities globally, socially, locally and economically, as well as considering the future of integration and cohesion in the district. The away day took place online on 24 June 2021.

The “Stronger Communities Partnership Board” was joined by Ivana d’Alessandro, Head of the Intercultural Cities Unit, who underlined that the City of Bradford is a very active and inspiring member of the ICC Network since joining in 2019 and that there are many projects led or co-implemented by Bradford that are becoming a source of inspiration for the whole Intercultural Cities network. She highlighted that in many ways Bradford is already a strong intercultural city. And yet, the values underpinned by interculturalism need to be cherished and nurtured in the long-term, and systematically deployed in all public services, with the view to developing an organisational culture that motivates and drives intercultural goals and aspirations.

The Bradford for Everyone programme runs from March 2019 to March 2022. More information about the programme can be found on the Bradford for Everyone website.
