Workshop 2: Cybercrime threats and trends

  25 November 2025

  11h00 – 12h30 - GMT+3

 Agenda

   Room TBC

With the region's growing dependence on information and communication technology, online crime has also increased considerably in Africa. This workshop will explore the evolving landscape of cybercrime, including the rise of cybercrime-as-a-service models that have lowered the entry barrier and function as the intersection between cybercrime and organized crime in Africa. Understanding the financial motivations behind cyberattacks helps better anticipate and respond to such threats.

This workshop will highlight the complex and ever-evolving cyber threats that are commonly observed. Gaining insights into tactics, techniques, and procedures employed by cybercrime groups is a condition for effective criminal justice responses.
