Yannick BAUMA BALIKUCHA is a lawyer, human rights defender, and young leader from Goma, Democratic Republic of the Congo. He recently successfully completed the tutored course on personal data protection offered by the North-South Centre of the Council of Europe, where he explored European, African, and international frameworks and their fundamental connection to human rights. He is actively engaged in discussions on ethics and digital responsibility, advocating for the protection of human rights and the strengthening of cybersecurity capacities.
As the founder and general coordinator of the NGO Voix des Jeunes pour la Paix, Yannick mobilizes youth and communities for civic participation, conflict prevention, and the promotion of peace. His projects include raising awareness on human rights, promoting good governance in artificial intelligence, and protecting personal data.
Graduated in Economic and Business Law, he combines youth leadership, legal expertise, and commitment to ethical digital transformation, aiming to strengthen access to justice, transparency, and the protection of human rights in the DRC and internationally.
