The Cybercrime Programme Office of the Council of Europe (C-PROC) extends cooperation with Australian Federal Police

On 4 March 2026, the Cybercrime Programme Office of the Council of Europe (C-PROC) convened a meeting with representatives of the Australian Federal Police (AFP) for the South-East Europe to discuss ongoing and prospective cooperation in capacity building related to cybercrime and electronic evidence.

The C-PROC management presented its mandate, emphasizing the implementation of capacity building projects on cybercrime in accordance with the Convention on Cybercrime (Budapest Convention), to which the AFP responded with a strong interest in enhancing collaboration as a key partner in global capacity building and stakeholder coordination.

The discussions focused on supporting law enforcement authorities in South-East Europe, building upon previous joint training initiatives and progressing towards more specialised interventions to benefit the region and beyond. Furthermore, the recent joint engagements were explored, particularly in the Western Balkans Digital Asset Investigations Working Group and laid the groundwork for forthcoming CyberSEE project activities in Albania and Montenegro, which will feature practical exercises addressing the illegal use of cryptocurrencies.
