Honourable Justice Aiah Simeon Allieu was called to the Bar on the 5th October, 2001. He has served as State Counsel for the North, South and Eastern Provinces of Sierra Leone. In 2019, he was appointed Judge of the High Court of which he has served till April 2025 and gained appointment to the position of Justice of the Court of Appeal for Sierra Leone.
During his tenure as High Court Judge, he worked in all Divisions of the High Court where he successfully handled a good number of Criminal cases especially Anti-Corruption cases and General Civil cases.
He has participated in several Conferences in and out of Sierra Leone notably UNITAR, Fellowship Programme in International Law (The Hague), Prosecution Capacity Building in West Africa (Institute of Criminology, Sydney Law School, Australia 2012), Regional Training for Judges and State Attorney on International Criminal Law and Implications in West Africa (Cote D’voire 2006), Sub Regional State Attorneys Training Programme on Environmental Law LINEP (Nairobi, 2004), International Counter Ransomware Conference, October, 2024 (White House Washington D.C).
He is currently representing the Judiciary of Sierra Leone in the Technical Working Group on Cybercrime (TWGC) and Chairman of the Local Courts Committee.
