As part of its commitment to supporting law reforms in Kosovo*, the CYBERKOP Action under the Octopus Project continues to provide assistance to the Ministry of Justice to draft the sub-legal act regulating their access to the Criminal Records System (CRS).
Building on the outcomes of the first workshop, the process is now entering its final stage, with this two-day workshop marking its completion. Members of the working group, including representatives of the Ministry of Justice, Judicial Council, and other institutions, are carefully reviewing this regulation to ensure alignment with European Union’s standards, particularly with Directive 2019/884 and Council Decision 2009/315/JHA.
This initiative will enhance the Ministry of Justice’s capacity to manage Mutual Legal Assistance requests, extraditions, and other judicial procedures, while also establishing a foundation for more efficient judicial international cooperation.
CYBERKOP Action stands ready to continue strengthening capacities of criminal justice institutions from Kosovo* in line with the international standards, with a particular focus on the Convention on Cybercrime (Budapest Convention) and its Second Additional Protocol.
