INJT 6th P2P webinar: spotlight on impact and challenges of financial investigations

The 6th practitioner-to practitioner (P2P) webinar of the International Network of National Judicial Trainers (INJT) took place on 31 October 2024, and brought together around 25 criminal justice professionals from various countries, who had the chance to discover the experience of the Financial Investigation Unit (FIU) of Sri Lanka including in cybercrime related matters.

The interventions focused on the international and national framework on which Sri Lanka FIU functions and the cooperation with the criminal justice system. A Ponzi scheme of cryptocurrency investments was also presented, including the challenges the Sri Lankan FIU and Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs) faced and how they overcame them. Moreover, the  speakers showcased how the cryptocurrency-related trainings organised in the framework of the Global Action on Cybercrime Enhanced project (GLACY-e) over the past 2 years enhanced the knowledge of the Sri Lankan authorities on this topic and enabled them to tackle this case more efficiently. .

On 27 November 2024 (date to be confirmed), INJT will hold its annual plenary meeting, online. Further details will be soon released to the INJT members.

For 2025, the P2P webinars under the umbrella of the INJT will continue with the same format and if you would like to become a member of the Network or to attend the P2P webinars, please fill in this registration form.
