GLACY-e: Stakeholder workshop on the role and responsibilities of 24/7 Point of Contact

On 7 April 2025, the GLACY-e project, a joint initiative of the European Union and the Council of Europe, successfully conducted an online workshop aimed at enhancing the knowledge and cooperation of representatives from Cameroon, Côte d’Ivoire, and Benin through the 24/7 Points of Contact established under the Convention on Cybercrime (Budapest Convention).

The workshop focused on the roles and responsibilities of the Contact Points, as outlined in Article 35 of the Convention, which facilitates expedited international cooperation on cybercrime and electronic evidence. Participants gained valuable insights from best practices shared by France and Luxembourg, leading to allocating the necessary resources and developing the capacities for processing international cooperation requests through this dedicated channel.

The activity is part of the GLACY-e project’s ongoing efforts to strengthen international cooperation and boost the capabilities of countries in combating cybercrime and handling the electronic evidence, by observing the Budapest Convention's standards. The results of this workshop indicate a positive step toward enhanced regional collaboration and sharing of experiences in the fight against cybercrime.
