19 prosecutors have finalised the Training of Trainers Programme supported by the GLACY-e project, a joint initiative of the European Union – Council of Europe , with the last phase concluded online, between 26-27 August 2024, on training skills – adult training methodology.
The aim of the training programme was to ensure that future courses implemented at national level are in line with the principles of adult education, and sufficiently hands-on to be able to address not only knowledge, but also skills and practical competences. While many of the participants had previous experiences as trainers, they manifested full engagement and proved to have acquired useful competencies on delivery methods and approaches, as well as adapting the actionable objectives to specific needs.
With this first pool of trainers established among prosecutors, the services from various regions of Brazil have now national capacities to regularly keep up to date their peers on cybercrime and electronic evidence topics. A similar approach is expected to be implemented together with the judiciary system colleagues, as the support through the Council of Europe projects will continue for both Training of Trainers Programme and various national deliveries.
Hand in hand with the legislative reform, enhancing the capacities of the criminal justice authorities regarding cybercrime and electronic evidence can be a turning point in applying the legislation by observing the conditions and safeguards as well as in engaging in effective international cooperation.
