CyberSouth: National workshop on developing the cybercrime reporting mechanism in Jordan

Continuing the series of national workshops on developing the cybercrime reporting mechanism in the priority countries, the CyberSouth project organized the fourth meeting for the Jordanian stakeholders.

Representatives from the Judicial Council, Jordan Armed Forces/Cybersecurity, National Cybersecurity Center and Public Security Directorate participated in the event, by interacting with the experts and explaining in detail the cybercrime reporting mechanism in place, including methods of reporting and investigative process after receiving a crime report.

The workshop featured an overview of the role and benefits of the cybercrime reporting mechanism, its structure, models, and methods of collection of the cybercrime complaints as well as of the Romanian cybercrime reporting mechanism.

The Jordanian representatives acknowledged the benefit of the support provided by the CyberSouth project in reinforcing the domestic procedures for dealing with e-evidence. Further assistance in establishing the practices to be followed by first responders to cybercrime investigations will be of help for the Jordanian law enforcement community.
