The joint European Union – Council of Europe CyberSouth project, in co-operation with the Ecole Supérieure de la Magistrature (ESM) and the Ministry of Justice of Algeria, piloted the first basic judicial training on cybercrime and electronic evidence delivered by national trainers, from 29 January to 2 February 2023, in Kolea, Algeria.
The activity is the result of previous joint efforts of the Council of Europe and Algeria to develop a national educational programme for student magistrates and in-service magistrates and to establish a pool of national trainers that can cascade knowledge and skills on cybercrime to peer magistrates.
The CyberSouth project will also facilitate and monitor the first advanced judicial training course on cybercrime and electronic evidence, delivered by national trainers in 2023.
