The Collaboration on International ICT Policy for East and Southern Africa (CIPESA) hosted this week, in Ethiopia, the sixth Forum on Internet Freedom in Africa (FIFAfrica).
The Council of Europe and the European Union Institute for Security Studies (ISS) co-hosted the panel "Election Security and Democracy".
Discussions focused on the role of cyber-diplomacy for election security, as well as the tools of the Budapest Convention available to investigate and prosecute aspects of election interference, detailed in the recent Guidance note on election interference, adopted by the Cybercrime Convention Committee (T-CY) in July 2019.
