On 15 December, the Senate of Brazil approved accession to the Budapest Convention. This crucial step will permit the Government of Brazil to deposit the instrument of accession and become a Party to this treaty any time soon, and thus to cooperate effectively on cybercrime and electronic evidence with currently 66 other Parties. Brazil is now also a priority country for capacity building and tailor-made technical assistance activities for criminal justice authorities will be further enhanced.
